Exhaustion
Exhaustion is almost the American way. We schedule every waking minute of our life (and some when we should be sleeping), We push ourselves constantly to be in sports, hold a job, get school work done and somehow fit in a social life. It seems most of the time when I ask how are you to one of my teens at youth group they say, tired, or busy.
It is not just teens who are guilty of this. I know I am guilty of this too, I feel guilty if I take some “down time” and do something other than clean the house or take care of the yard when I am not at one of my many scheduled events. This leaves me often in a flustered, unpleasant state of exhaustion.
Becoming Clean
When I was in Haiti, I did a lot of work. The first day I was there, we put up drywall. The next day, we built a shelf and organized a storeroom. The day after that, we weeded and cleared paths for the wheelbarrow. All of this we did in ninety-degree weather.
That night was the first time I took a shower.
Yes, I did feel disgusting. Yes, I had wanted to shower before then. No, I never want to go that long between showers again.
But it was really cool, too, because when I finally did, I got to see all the grime be washed away. I felt like an entirely new person, one who was clean and more prepared to do work.
Incest in the Bible
Often times people claim the Bible is immoral because it allows and sometimes recommends incest by God commanding certain people to marry their family members. Today, incest is illegal in many countries, if not all, and is considered sinful in the Bible (Leviticus 18). So what exactly happened? Adam and Eve were created by God, so that isn’t incest. But then their children had to marry each other because who else was there to marry? Same with Jacob, marrying his first cousin(s). So how is allowed there, but not now? Isn’t that contradictory? Nope, not at all.
Salvage
Salvage
I watched TV and fear wells up within
The anger and violence never seem to end
I reach out and cry for you
Dear God please see us through
our world is lost and dying now
Please salvage this world like only you know how
Salvage our Lives destoryed by sin
Salvage our homes torn down within
Salvage this world please now
Salvage this world like only you know how
My friends lost and living in sin
Can you change their hearts from within
I know the time of your coming is near
For my lost loved ones I now fear
Oh God the world is lost and dying now
Please salvage this world like only you know how
Salvage our lives destoryed by Sin
Salvage our homes torn down within
Salvage this world please now
Salvage this world like only you know how.
The teen mother crying for a friend
One of the scens from the mess we’re in
We can’t fix it we don’t know how
There is only one who can help us now
So I cry out to you with a broken heart now
Please salvage this world like only you know how
Every weekend I check the website for our local news and I see another shooting, Another breaking and entering another drug bust. it is easy to get discouraged and give up on our world but we shouldn’t.
Romans 8:37 tells us through Christ we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. This verse tells us that we are not defeated and this fight is not over! God can still use us to salvage this world.
So don’t be down heartened! There is nothing humans have messed up that God can put back together!
Mirror Mirror
Mirror Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all…. When I was a little girl this was just a haunting phrase from a wicked witch who was driven by her thirst for beauty!
The older I got the more I began to relate to the wicked witch in the story. The media began filling my mind and polluting my life with pictures of woman who were thin and tan, confident and successful! I began to raise my standard to that of the airbrushed girls, and starving super models. The mirror began to lie to me, hide the positive things that once drew my eyes and focus on the negatives. I noticed my lacking six pack, stretch marks and spots of cellulite. I no longer could see my blue eyes, and welcoming smile. My heart for my savior was being hidden and silenced.

How Smart Did Mankind Really Use to Be?
So often we are told that the people who lived before us, the ancient Egyptians, Romans, Mayans etc. were an “inferior” version of humans today because we have supposedly evolved more meaning we are of higher intelligence and therefore smarter. I mean, this seems right, because of all the new technologies we have today, but when you look at this statement Biblically, you realize that it can’t possibly be true.
Lord.. May I have a word?
Lord.. May I have a Word?
Daily routines are what saturate every human being into thinking that everything has to be perfect and on time. We plan out our whole day, and if something doesn’t go our way, we decide to throw a huge temper tantrum like 3 year olds do when they don’t get a cookie they demanded.
Idolizing Pastors #2

Today, we have mega-churches that make money from the faces of their pastors.
They are so marketed that we begin to idolize them. More…
