God Has Given Us…

People often tell me that I should do what God “needs” me to do with this life. Yet, never did God say he “needed” Jeli to come to this earth and save anyone from anything. He has everything under control.

So, instead of living my life a certain way because I think God needs me to, I follow this approach:

If you love the Lord, you will learn about who He is.

Now hold on a quick minute. How does that mean the same as doing what he has planned for me? More…

Are There Two Creation Accounts?

Creation of Man

Genesis 1 is the common creation account found in the Bible. However, in Genesis 2, it looks like there is another creation account listed. This is used as evidence that the Bible is contradictory. However, this isn’t quite the case, but in fact shows the literary understanding of the author of Genesis.

Is It the Same God in the Old and New Testament?

Testimant

While reading the Old Testament and New Testament, it is hard not to notice a “difference” in behavior in God. And many skeptics of Christianity are sure to point this out too. But Christianity only has one God, and that God can’t be changing either. So what gives? The short answer: God is God is God meaning the God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New Testament.

The biggest objection brought up is how can God so easily kill people in the Old Testament (such as Numbers 16), but rarely do it in the New Testament, but still claim it is the same God. The answer to this question can be broken down into 3 points:

The Bible and Evolution: Can They Work Together? NO

iStock_000003567162XSmall

Most Christians you talk to believe that Evolution and the Bible are harmonious with each other. However, most Christians don’t know the implications of believing in Evolution and the Bible. Specifically, belief in the Bible and evolution presents serious theological issues. On top of that, the two don’t fit harmoniously at all. How well they fit is about how well a square peg fits in a circular hole.

The Reliability of the Bible

The reliability of the bible

The Reliability of the Bible

A Christian without a Bible is like a car without gasoline — both won’t get very far. The Bible is a unique document in which there were 40 different writers that created the 66 books of the Bible. The Bible contains everything from historical writing, to inspiration to love to commandments. Most importantly, every last word in the Bible was the inspired Word of God! The Bible is the map for the Christian. It shouldn’t be a surprise that such a unique document that is critical to the Christian faith is often under attack for a variety of reasons such as: a man-made creation (no Godly intervention), full of incorrect science, or contradictory. There is good news though: none of that is true!

The Significance of the Grave, The Borrowed Tomb

The Borrowed TombPut your self in this story, here we have Jesus hanging on the cross, all is left is his mother and a few others still lingering around, weeping at the foot of the cross.
